This post for today will discuss having an internet business plan. I also included a video at the bottom of this post about this subject.

An internet business plan is the most important first step that you will want to take if you want your business venture to be successful. Just like anything else when it comes to your online business you need to be intentional about your internet business if you want it to turn out successful.

Coming up with a good internet business plan can make all the difference in the world between being a successful business or ending up failing like so many internet marketers do nowadays.

There are a few things that you need to do. First, I strongly encourage you to learn as much as you can about internet marketing. That’s right you need to be a student of this business since it’s constantly evolving year to year. There is no excuse when it comes to this education because there is ton of information that is available online for you to read and study. Learn as much as you can right now.

Secondly put into practice the strategies that you are learning about. For instance if you’re learning about article marketing, start writing articles in other words don’t just read about it, do it.

Next, start paying attention to the strategies you’re best at. Some of the strategies you will like and there will be others you won’t like. So you need to know what you’re good at and not good at so that you can build your business faster.

This video describes seven steps you can that for your online business success.

Find a niche.  Keep in mind you’re trying to solve a problem, not sell a product. Find a niche where people a looking to solve a problem. This is often referred to as a “Hungry Market.” When you find one it will prove to be profitable.

Find a product that will solve this problem.  When you are starting out, Clickbank is a great place to find products. They offer high commissions usually 50 to 75% and the products are digital so there is no shipping and offer a wide variety of products.

Find a keyword to target.  This is how your niche will find you. If you use a keyword that enough people are searching for along with low competition you can end up on the first page of Google.

Setup a website using WordPress.  I recommend using WordPress because it is easy to setup and use. You can update and edit very easily and you don’t need to know much html. As you setup your website make sure to optimize it using your keyword in the title, description and several times in your content.

Use the strategies you know.   As you progress in your learning you should have been able to determine with ones you’re best at and use those to promote your site. As you get better and faster at these than start to incorporate newer strategies that you’re learning about. It’s best to have a diverse set of links pointing back to your site.

Plan your weekly routine.  Take the time to plan what you need to do each day of the week. By doing this you will find that you are much more productive and it will ensure that you will use all the strategies you want to use. And make sure to plan to spend some time researching and learning. These are probably the two most important things you can be doing especially if you are starting out.

Evaluate your plan monthly.  You want your internet business plan to work right? The best way to do that is to follow it after a month. Is it working? What can be improved? Make the changes and try it for a month. Pretty soon you will have a streamline operation allowing you to do more in less time.

As you can see this is a simple business plan that you can use as you get started with an internet marketing business. Feel free to add to it because this has to be your internet business plan, not mine. The most important thing is it is not how well written it is nor how great it looks, but can you follow it and will it get you success.

he information on this video is about something very critical that can help you generate a lot of traffic and leads for your online business.   The focal point of this video is on content marketing and how you can create an army of content that will be working for your business twenty four seven.

This will take massive action, massive focus and massive consistency.  And this is critical if you want results.  What are some of the benefits of content marketing?

First let us focus on video marketing for a moment.  Let’s say you create a video a day for the next 100 days.  You know that you can go to youtube or any other video sharing site and play your video over and over again, twenty four hours a day seven days a week.  That is why video marketing is the favorite marketing method of a lot of internet marketers because anybody can access the video and establish a repertoire with their visitors.

So video is a amazing thing but you would want to do it on a massive scale.  So no matter what niche you are in that is why it’s important to increase your value because if you can create content consistently and you can get it out there over the next year that’s three hundred and sixty five pieces content that will continue to go to work for you forever.  That’s why you need to think about this.

That’s the mistake a lot of marketers make they don’t want to take massive action and they fail.  They may put out a couple of articles, a couple of videos, a couple pieces of content and think this doesn’t work.   What they fail to realize that you have to put content on a massive scale to have a chance of becoming successful online.

You always want to produce content that will be valuable to your visitors.  Your content should always be designed to help, support and solve your reader’s problems.   You want to expose the problem and offer reliable solutions to that problem.   Next you want to present a call to action to your website that will give them more useful information that they can use.

A lot of people wonder how they can produce content.  Don’t get hung up on this because there is so many ways you can create content.  For an example you can get ideas from something you read from article directories and forums.    You can watch videos and create your own video in your own words.   There is so much information available no matter what your niche is. So start reading, studying, and going over the information and start creating new content in your own words.

Just remember content marketing to build any type of online business comes down to massive action, massive focus and massive consistency.  And if you can do this on a large scale for the next you will be pleased with your online success.

I came across this snippet of a video of Derek Gehl that was recorded back in 2008, but the message he gives can be applied to your online business today.  The bottom line is this that when you start applying what you learn about internet marketing strategies and take action and apply it, see it through you will see results.

Because the people that see it through take action and apply it just as they’re told get incredible results.  You hear this all the time with internet marketers “my ideas are different; it’s not going to work for me because my business is different.”   And frankly that is the wrong way to be thinking.

What Derek talked about in this video is that if he would break down any successful online business he would find that whether the business knew it or not or whether they knew they used internet marketing strategies or not internet marketing strategies were the foundation of what they built.

It wasn’t any revolutionary new tool or technology it was this foundation that built their success.  And he went on to give examples of individuals who were successful at building successful internet marketing businesses by using internet marketing strategies.   These individuals have seen great results in a number of different niches.

A personal trainer started a website and followed some simple marketing strategies and created a product out the services of a personal trainer and now makes 1.2 million a year.   A wine maker took their stuff of making wine, their wine making kits and other stuff and created grapestompers.com and now makes over 300 thousand a year.

A guitar teacher teaches people how to play a guitar online now.  He took a service and created a product and makes 200 thousand dollars a year.   A video game fanatic makes over a half a million dollars a year teaching people how to play video games.  A yoga teacher who teaches other yoga teachers how to be successful yoga teachers makes over one hundred and fourteen thousand dollars a year.

A bed and breakfast owner who has an offline business use to book all their reservations through a central reservation services and travel agents and gave them a huge cut eventually gave up on all that.  She took what she learned about using an internet marketing strategy started applying what she learned and created a website and now all her booking comes through her website.  She now is making over a hundred and twenty thousand a year.

A record producer started selling the tools people need to cut their own records and is making over eleven thousand dollars a month now.  And that business is just getting started!  A denturist, and I can’t figure out how you actually sell dentures on the internet, I think that it’s a pretty personal thing, but over a quarter of a million a year selling dentures online.

A tattoo artist is making over three hundred thousand plus a year, a deck chair maker . . . are you getting the point, is making over a million dollars a year.  A real estate investor is making over a million dollars a year by using internet marketing strategies.

You can find these examples on the internet all day long.  You need to understand that every single business on the internet needs to know how to implement internet marketing strategies in their business to be successful.

I recently ran across this short video with Rob Ansell the owner of Ansell Marketing which is one of the many internet marketing seo services you can find online.  In this video Rob describes what his business can do to help any online marketing business.  Here is some of the important information he shares with anyone who has a website.

Truth is that your website is probably the next most important thing to your business card.  Having a website is like having a business card.  Having a website that is improperly done or totally functional is like having somebody cut up a piece of your business card, it’s kind of awkward.

Today people use the search engines more than ever to find companies to do business with, so he wanted to bring up the point about websites, the development of websites and the two most important parts about having a properly developed website.

The first is the design and the content.  You should design your website to your brand and make sure that it represents you well.  The information that you have on your website is well layed out and that it is easy to find and people can put a name to a face, so that they can know everything there is ti know about your business.

Often times when websites are created the websites are only a partial fit, meaning that it has just bits and pieces of information but it is not really clear.  People think that, that is enough but the truth is it is not enough and your competitors will always have more information than you.  So, have the right information, and have the right branding.

The next most important step is to make sure that your site is search engine ready.  This is the part that most online marketing businesses overlook.   They think that just because their website is up and running that it is good enough.  I can punch in my company’s information, I found it, and good I’m happy.

But the point is that, that is not good enough today.  When people search for products and services they search by keywords.  They don’t necessarily look you up by your businesses name because they don’t know who you are, so you need to be found by your category.  So there are important steps to making sure that your website can be found by category and comes with the programming, the design of the website, page names, proper page titles, headings and things like that.

So any good internet marketing seo services will work with your online marketing business to develop your websites making sure that they are search engine ready.

The first question you might have especially if you have no idea about article marketing is what is article marketing?  What would be the simple definition of article marketing?

We can say that a definition would be it’s one of the simplest forms of marketing where business owner writes short articles being anywhere from 600 words or more, that is related to their field of business.  So let’s say you’re writing an article about cars like how to make your car save gas.  And let’s say that you have a website that is designed for that niche.

What you would want to do is write articles that relate to that specific product or specific website or if you are promoting another person’s product that is related to that specific product.  So when you write your articles you don’t want to make it look like its spam.

A good question that is often asked that is related to the first question is how much time does article marketing actually take?

Honestly article marketing is a simple form of marketing as I mentioned in an earlier paragraph.  In the beginning it could take you anywhere from fifteen to twenty minutes, but as you start to do it more often it might take you only ten to fifteen minutes.  And submitting articles is where you will want to spend most of your time.

I do want to make mention that article marketing is great for SEO.  If you don’t know what SEO is, all it means is Search Engine Optimization.  What this means is that if you choose to do article marketing search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing love content, especially if it is new, unique content.  They prefer content that is written to inform users on “how to” do something, informational types of things.

If its quality content that’s what the search engines love, therefore if you list in certain article directories you are going to be able to rank higher.   For instance if you could write ten quality articles a week and submit them to a good article directory like Ezine Articles you could end up on the first page of Google very quickly.   Think of the traffic you could have and the targeted list of subscribers you could build for your online marketing business just from article marketing alone.

Think of the sales and the growth of your business that you can start to have by just understanding the answer to what is article marketing.

There are three primary questions that get asked over and over again.  The first question is what is internet marking? Secondly how does internet marketing work?  And finally is internet marketing business right for me?

Let me answer the first question what is internet marketing.  Basically internet marketing is the process of growing an promoting your business online.  Your internet marketing business could be for a product or products, or service you can provide for you customers.  And you can promote it locally or globally or both if you want to.

So how does internet marketing work?  Let me answer this question like this when you take a look at internet marketing verses traditional marketing and all the advantages it offers your business  the first thing you’ll noticed is that a smaller business can actually compete against a much larger organization.  And the size of your organization is far less relevant than what it used to be.  Tour business can just be you.

And if you implement internet marketing in a strategic and smart fashion you can have tremendous success.  Because with internet marketing your prospects or customers are already looking for you and your product or service you offer and you’ll be getting out in front of them with marketing your business online.

With traditional marketing you have to interrupt people.  For example you have to get them away from their TV programs, or their listening to their music either on their IPod or radio.  And you will be cluttering up their mail by clogging their mailbox with unwanted advertisements.   Now be honest do you really take the time to read all the advertisements in your mail?  Neither do they

And what has also been a interesting discovery  in the differences between internet marketing and traditional marketing is that over half of the people who are accessing the internet right now this minute are actually watching less TV so that they can spend more time interacting online.

What is a blog? Blogging can provide you with a great content managing system for your website if you use the right blogging software. But how do you set up a blog?

If you use good blogging software you can also get independent programmers sometimes for free to actually design different plug-ins for you to work with your blog to provide additional functionality.

Then there is blog pinging which is an automated way of marketing with a blog. Whenever you actually post on your blog either a short post or an article then that new post can automatically be “pinged” to different blog directories and be featured in them with this protocol.

So really what is a blog? A blog is a good piece of technology to have part of your website which can really automate your marketing. Whatever you actually post a new article then it is automatically published in lots of different areas. It is a great tool to help automate your internet marketing business.

A blog does not have to be in a form or journal style, it doesn’t have to be in a diary style. It can be in any style you want it to be. It could be business, it could be articles, it could be advice, updates it’s simply a great piece of technology you can incorporate on your website.

It’s the fastest way to create new information on your website which automatically updates the search engines. It tells the search engines you published great new content and automatically pings to different blog directories to make them aware as well. So they rank you higher if you have great new content on your website on a regular basis, and a blog is probably the best way to do that.

There are different types of blogging software available today. Here are just a few examples: Blogger and WordPress. Blogger is owned by Google and if you want to test out blogging and see how it works it’s a great place to start. Just sign up and create a free Blogger account with them.

But if you’re actually going to incorporate a blog as part of your website and I certainly encourage that you do and probably have your website address, but if you have a blog in it probably will be your website address/blog, it would be the folder you install your blog on. And with WordPress the reason it is so good is that you can actually install it on your own website rather than have it hosted elsewhere. And it is also open source which means that lots of coordinators have actually worked on it and continue to work on it. But it also means it’s free of charge as well, it doesn’t cost you anything to install it on your website.

Another good thing about WordPress is there are a lot of WordPress themes available for you to use. WordPress is just simply a piece of technology that works well but what a theme is the fuel of your blog. So you can choose thousands of pre-designed themes for your blogs, with different colors of headings, color of links, the way the structure works. You can alter anything you want by a theme.

To find the different themes just go to themes.wordpress.net and you can search for a lot of different themes that people have already designed. Like with different columns widths, different colors, fixed widths just depending on what you want for your websites. You can also get a WordPress theme designed specifically for you; it doesn’t have to cost much at all.

To use a theme you like you would just click on the download button on the page and download it to your computer then just upload it to you server and place it in the correct folder in your website. It is real easy to do.

As I mentioned blogging is an excellent content management tool as well. It lets users who don’t know html, who don’t know web programming language at all easily add new pages to your website without having to know that program language. And you’re able to use keyword rich new posts with keyword rich titles and have them uploaded to your website with WordPress is a good content management tool without knowing html.

In the back office of your WordPress blog is where you can create your websites pages and posts. If you’re doing your keyword research you would incorporate your keyword phrase that you would want to include in your post. You want to include that keyword phrase in your title, once in the first few lines of your post and once in the last few lines of your post. If you just think around things and think logically you could probably incorporate a keyword phrase fairly easily without looking to the users that you’re tailoring your posts towards search engines.

Then you would either choose or create a category based on your keyword phrase. On the bottom of your post once it is published will show the category the post can be found in. This is great search engine optimization for your website because anyone who can’t find your site or page or individual post then certainly the search engines will crawl through that post and see what fits into these categories, it will help your whole website rank better. The more posts you publish that are decent on a regular basis.

So back to our question how do you set up a blog? Simply by implementing a few of these simple steps you can understand just how to set up a blog.

This is one of the best Internet marketing strategies I came across and wanted to share it with you. This method works well in any market you choose to be in, it works well in any niche market.

This video will show you a technique that will allow you to see what your competition is doing using Alexa.  Alexa is a website that ranks different webpages depending on the traffic, they do it every 3 months.

There’s a tab in Alexa that lets you view the keywords that your competition is using to dominate the search engines and what people are really searching for. As an exercise, take a keyword that you are trying to rank for and type it in the Google search bar.

You will see on the screen your competition plus the PPC ads giving you a good idea of your market. On the first page of Google you will find the top ten websites in your niche and just pick one out.

On the main page of that website copy the URL and then go to the Alexa website. On the Alexa site paste the copy of the URL in the search box. Push search and Alexa will bring you the results of the website you want your information on.

On this page you will see the text that says “Get site info for:” just click the link. A screen will appear with the information that you’re looking for. This page shows you the traffic rank, it will give you the amount of links it has (which is another Internet marketing strategy you can use).

You will see a list of tabs, find the one that is labeled keywords click it. You will see that it shows “Search Terms Driving Traffic” and show you the top keywords that is driving traffic to this site which is updated monthly. So what can you do with this information?

You can form a blog post about this, you can do a Squidoo page, a Hubpage which are content sharing sites. You can do a video, an article, and many other different things you can do to rank for these keywords.

Now choose anyone of those keywords and copy it and go back to Google and paste this keyword in the search bar and do what you did earlier. See how much competition is there for this keyword. It may be a keyword you can rank for.

As I was researching Internet marketing I came across this video from 2006.  Even though it is 15 years old, the thinking was ahead of its time. If you are an internet marketer take a moment to check it out and pull out your pencil and paper and take some notes.

When asked what was the most important invention of the 20th century

• 7% said television
• 11% said the telephone
• 80% said the computer

Pick up any magazine, watch any television show, read any newspaper dot.com is the buzz word of the millennium.

In 1998 there was 95.4 million people online. By the end of 2000 over 360 million, in 2005 over 700 million and at the end of March 2011 over 2 billion internet users.

In 1998 E-commerce $39 million in revenue, in 1999 $1.14, in 2004 experts were predicting $1.5 trillion.  Even though the economy of the world is experiencing a meltdown, $680 billion in revenue for 2011 representing a growth of 18.9% compared to 2010 in sales.

E-commerce has definitely arrived, and guess who is shopping?

• Teenagers
• Generation Xer’s
• Baby Boomers
• Seniors (the fastest growing sector on line)

Ask yourself these two questions:

1. Are there fortunes being made on the internet?
2. And are you making a fortune on the internet?

Why not?  Because fortunes are being made now, 24 hours a day, 7days a week, 365 days a year.  Many of the richest entrepreneurs in the world have made their fortunes on the internet.  And believe it or not you could too all you need is access to a computer.

The internet will two things: create opportunities and destroy old ways and methods of doing business.  Welcome to the internet gold rush.  You can either stake your claim or sit back and watch it all happen.

You have four chances to make money on the Internet right now.

• Become an investor – the problem, you must pick the right stock and have money you’re willing to risk.
• Become a developer – the problem, you need technical training.  Are you ready to quit your job and go back to school.
• Become a seller – the problem, you need a marketable product or service.  Along with lawyers, patients and infrastructure.  And a website – a good one, because 4 out 5 people never re-visit and “average” site.
• You can start now with what you have right from where you are. The Internet revolution will only happen once.  And everyone has the same opportunity.

Bottom line is get involved or get run over.  But how can you get involved?  What can you possibly bring to the table?  Your mouth.  You see the internet has a problem the total number of websites on the Internet have now exceeded 182 million. You will never see them all.  No one ever will.
